Producing the blocks inspires us to new ideas. And so we have designed a new game. The name is Tor Tor, which means continue/continuous in Khmer.
Tor Tor is an individual game. It is all about solving a big math problem. You can start with any side of a block as long as it shows you an equation. The next block should start with the two numbers that are the outcome of the first equations. You should be able to complete a row of 8 blocks.
So far we have managed to make all our games self-corrective. This one shows a nice color pattern if you did it right. To see the pattern you have to turn the whole row twice.
Since we use numbers from 0 – 15, we consider Tor Tor a good practice for students in grade 1 and 2. But when we tested the game we came to the conclusion that also older kids like it a lot.
And it speaks for itself that this game also helps in reducing the amount of used water bottles lying around in the country side.
De productie van de plastic blokken werkt inspirerend. We hebben weer een nieuw spel bedacht. De naam is Tor Tor en dat betekent continu in Khmer
Tor Tor is een individueel spel. Het gaat erom een grote rekensom op te lossen. Je start door een willikeurig blok te kiezen. Leg hem zo neer dat je de rekensom kunt lezen. Nu moet je uit een van de andere blokken de som zoeken die begint met de oplossing van het eerste blok. Op deze manier kun je een rij maken van 8 blokken.
Tot nu toe zijn al onze spellen zelf corrigerend. Deze is dat ook. Al je klaar bent draai je de hele rij twee keer om, zodat de bodem nu zichtbaar is. Als je een mooi kleurenpatroon ziet, heb je het goed gedaan.
De sommen gaan van 0 -15, dus dit spel is een goede oefening voor kinderen uit groep 3 en 4. Maar tijdens het testen kwamen we tot de conclusie dat ook iets oudere kinderen het leuk vinden.
En het spreekt voor zich dat dit spel ook weer helpt bij het opruimen van gebruikte waterflesjes die overal liggen op het platteland.
