Last week we visited the Phare School in Battambang. With a special donation through Leng Support we were able to deliver a number of Leng sets math.
The Phare School is the trainings center of the famous circus in Siem Reap. Besides the possibility to explore several circus-activities and artistic skills there is first of all a preschool and primary school. The school is for free and so a lot of kids are coming on a daily basis, but still the quality is high and that is the merit of the staff, working there with heart and soul.
It was nice to see that the community center, also library, was used well and that there was permanent guidance for the kids. An ideal place to do your homework, read a book or just have a rest.
In that same room we demonstrated our games and left behind a few sets of Leng math. It’s a good start, and we’ll be back for sure.
Vorige week hebben we een bezoek gebracht aan de Phare School in Battambang. Met een bijzondere donatie via Leng Support waren wij in staat gesteld een aantal Leng sets rekenen te leveren.
De Phare school is het opleidingscentrum van het beroemde circus in Siem Reap. Naast de mogelijkheid om je als kind te bekwamen in verschillende circus activiteiten en artistieke vaardigheden is er in de eerste plaats een preschool en basisschool. Deze school is gratis en dus komen er dagelijks heel veel kinderen, maar de kwaliteit is ook bovengemiddeld en dat is de verdienste van de medewerkers die er met hart en ziel werken.
Fijn was het te zien dat de gemeenschapsruimte annex bibliotheek druk bezocht werd en dat er begeleiding was voor de kinderen. Een ideale plek om je huiswerk te maken, maar ook om lekker een boek te lezen of gewoon even te rusten.
We hebben in diezelfde ruimte onze spellen gedemonstreerd en een aantal Leng sets achtergelaten. Dit is een goed begin, maar we komen zeker terug.
