On her way from school, 8-year-old Anika finds a mysterious injured bird on the banks of the Singapore river. The little girl, with her mission to save the bird, helps us discover the customs of every day life in Singapore, close-to-nature-town-country. At the same time she discovers the meaning of true friendship.
