These lasts months we have been in contact with the circus. I can tell more about that soon. But because of this contact we got the chance to see a show together. So we did last Friday.
Prior to the show we ate pizza. That was new to most of us too. And although it is weird for most Cambodians to have a meal without any rice, the pizza was a success.
We saw the show “same, same, but different” which was especially fun since this show has a lot of humor. In a very original way the artists show the differences between western tourists and traditional Cambodians. And while this story is told, the most spectacular tricks are shown. It is really impressive. It is almost a pity that they call this a circus, because it is so much more: theater, dance, music and acrobatics.

De laatste maanden hebben we veel contact met het circus. Binnenkort kunnen we daarover meer vertellen. Maar door dit contact kregen we de kans om met ons allen (vieren) een voorstelling te bezoeken. Dat hebben we afgelopen vrijdag gedaan.
Voorafgaand aan de voorstelling hebben we pizza gegeten. Ook dat was voor de meeste van ons voor het eerst. En hoewel het voor Cambodjanen vreemd is om iets te eten waar geen rijst bij wordt geserveerd, viel het toch in de smaak.
We zagen de voorstelling “same, same, but different” wat heel erg leuk was omdat deze voorstelling heel humoristisch is. Op een bijzonder originele wijze worden de verschillen tussen westerse toeristen en traditionele Cambodjanen getoond. En terwijl dit verhaal wordt verteld worden spectaculaire trucks uitgehaald. Het is echt indrukwekkend. Het is bijna jammer dat ze het een circus noemen, want het is zoveel meer: theater, dans, muziek, en acrobatiek.
